Choice

Choice

In Life we're all faced head on with choices. Question is are we always making the right choices under the right circumstances? Choice is simply defined as An act of selecting or making a decision when faced with two or more possibilities. How do you know what choice is right and what choice is wrong, most of us go with our gut feelings with hopes that we're being steered in the right direction and sometimes we make the right choice and others we make the wrong choice. Choices are something that we make so frequently and with so much thought. One of the biggest choices I've ever made was to choose to trust my boyfriend again i knew the consequence of the choice could have been me getting hurt but I had incredible faith in him and I and ultimately it was the best choice that I ever made.

In the poem "The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost the traveler was faced with a dilemma as to whether or not he would take the first road or the second. The roads we're worn the same and in his opinion equally lay. The traveler came to the conclusion that he would take the second road and leave the first for another day doubting that he'll ever come back. The poem is titled "The road not taken" because the traveler will forever question the choice of taking that second road. Asking himself questions such as what would have occurred if he would have taken that second road? Would his life be different? And what would have changed if he would have made the different choice?

Just like me the character maria in the short story Dead End had to make a choice that would impact her love life. Remembering the promises maria made her mother and herself as well as the responsibilities she have at home maria made the choice not to try & fit in and smoke dope, and have sex like the other teens. Although She dreaded the decision at the precise moment she didn't fail herself or her mother and that meant more than anything. Maria made the choice to stay on the right path because even though she wanted to belong she looked at long term and discovered that she wanted something more and something brighter for her future.

Choices are essential in life and have good consequences and bad consequences. We often learn from our bad choices how to make the good ones in the future. Without bad choices we would never understand a good choice and without good choices we would never understand a bad. The key to making choices is understanding the consequences and deciding whether or not we in fact want to make the choice. When you're faced with two or more possibilities which do you choose. You choose the choice that's ideal for you.
